For this project Dimension was engaged by return clients Oxford Capital, a well renowned development company in Christchurch. This was a 10 unit development and had an impressive build time of 5 months. Careful planning and coordination are crucial in delivering large scale projects like this in tight timeframes, and our highly skilled team of builders ensure that the quality of the build is not sacrificed as a result. Dimension has a lot of experience in these sorts of projects, having completed a number of multiunit developments around Christchurch city. Client satisfaction is high on our priority list, and we work hard to ensure our builds exceed client expectation, so they keep coming back for future projects.
This build is an example of a design and build service we can offer our clients. Our team worked closely with an architect to design this home to our clients needs and budget. A lot of time was spent in the design process to really maximise the usable space with a minimal footprint. Dray place was designed to be a high performance energy efficient home, featuring solar panels and a focus on airtight construction to minimise energy expenses. The brief was to keep it simple with neutral and robust tones throughout. These are matched with high quality finishes and custom made, up-cycled rimu bathroom vanities, master bedroom headboard and kitchen island. The build nestles itself nicely into the gently sloping section and is a great example of the beautiful high quality homes Dimension Construction can design and deliver.
Dimension Construction was engaged by Chetwode Projects, development partners, to manage and build two architectural townhouses in Merivale. These upscale residences surpassed expectations, selling for a higher price than initially projected—a remarkable investment venture for the Chetwode team. We were involved right from the planning phase through to completion, keeping the client's vision at the heart of the build all the way through. The build was delivered on budget and on time, meeting the demanding pressures of the residential market in Christchurch. This project perfectly demonstrates how being agile, transparent, and completely aligned with clients can facilitate cost savings and enhancements to an original design.
For this impressive hill build we were engaged by Marc, a leading architectural designer at South x Southeast Architects, to build his personal family home out in Diamond Harbour. We worked alongside Marc and Holly right from concepting stages to develop the initial concept design into something extraordinary. We helped with the overall buildability of the home and had a vital input into material choices and details to help save costs where we could without compromising on the architectural feel of the build. The house is designed in two separate pods that are linked via a deck which extends down in a few different levels to a large entertaining area. Here there are 2 over wall sliding doors that lead inside to the main birch ply lined living area. The Matte Flaxpod cladding and mono pitched roofs blend into the surrounding hills and trees and compliment the stepped nature of the site. The house uses cantilevers and angles to help give it a "floating" look. Overall, a well-designed and well executed build. Both the clients and the team at dimension construction were very pleased with the results.
Here at Dimension we work with a number of different architects and for this project we were engaged by James from James Valentine Architects to build his personal Bach out in the Waikari Valley. The site has an amazing setting with extensive views over the valley and these have been framed by a number of full height windows along the northern side of the building. The Bach was constructed out of SIPS panels/ or structurally insulated panels. These are made in a factory and then delivered to site where we install them. The panels themselves offer a very well insulated and airtight building envelope which is fast to erect. This form of construction is common in passive homes and is great for producing energy efficient and sustainable buildings. Here we are passionate about passive construction and delivering sustainable building solutions to our clients and will be doing a lot more of this style of building in the future.
Dimension Construction has formed strong relationships with all our clients which has led to ongoing and repeat work. The build showcased here was a four-unit development project for Oxford Capital, a well-known and established developer in Christchurch. Once again, this project was delivered ahead of schedule and to our consistent high standards. These architecturally designed houses make a bold statement and have a point of difference from the other builds you see going up around the city centre. They are a great option for some high quality inner city living. Nothing is a problem for us here at Dimension and this can-do attitude had Oxford Capital immediately sign us up for their next 10-unit project.
Dimension has built a number of Sheds and Shed Homes on rural properties. We have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to building steel and timber framed sheds and transforming them into warm and comfortable living spaces. For some people the cost and practicality of a shed home is very appealing, and these are a great addition to any lifestyle property or holiday destination.
